Situated at the heart of the landmark Hudson Yards Development in New York, Diamond Glass were proud to supply our Toughened laminated products to the Equinox Hotel project.

This luxury complex, which features switchable privacy glass from Smartglass International, is now ready for guests to enjoy, opening to the public this month (June 2019).

The hotel is located within the architectural gem that is 35 Hudson Yards. Designed by David Childs of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), this 1,000-foot-tall tower is home to the Equinox Hotel on floors 24 through 38. This is the first hotel for the Equinox brand, and it’s no surprise that is has chosen the exciting Hudson Yards development to house its latest venture.

Described by many as the ‘New Heart of New York’, the Hudson Yards real estate development will include thousands of residences, offices, restaurants and retail space. With all this, plus 14 acres of parks and open spaces, the Hudson Yards area is designed to bring people together to live, work, and relax.

With its focus on wellness, fitness and diet, the Equinox Hotel is indeed the ideal place to relax. As the first hotel for luxury gym brand, Equinox, the hotel provides a high-performance environment for healthy living. Alongside food from restaurateur Stephen Starr, access to personal training services, a spa, and several pools, guests will enjoy rooms featuring soundproofed walls and blackout shades to provide rest and calm in the midst of the city.

Adding to the comfort and convenience of this luxury hotel is switchable privacy glass, supplied by Smartglass International, and installed by Jerome Glass of New York. The UL-approved glass has been used throughout the many hotel rooms to provide a discrete and aesthetically pleasing privacy solution for shower room separation.

Capable of providing privacy at the flick of a switch, this innovative glass offers a hygienic solution for window shading. Designed to exceed all relevant health and safety standards, Smartglass uses a minute electrical current to instantly switch glass from clear to opaque, and vice versa. Microsoft Ireland

Diamond Glass were proud to supply the glass balustrade requirements for Microsoft Ireland.

Microsoft Ireland offices comprises of a 330,000 sqf campus on the outskirts of Dublin. The building is home to 2,000 employees with 71 different nationalities. Lead designers for the building were RKD Architects and Gensler.

London School of Economics

Diamond Glass were delighted to work with our customer on the delivery of the external curtain walling for the development for the London School of Economics.

This prestigious project in the centre of London was the first new building commissioned by London School of Economics in 40 years and won the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) UK building of the year 2014. The project was shortlisted alongside 64 other exceptional buildings across London, including the Shard and Zaha Hadid’s Aquatics Centre.

The Central Bank of Ireland is the first office building in Ireland to achieve the BREEAM “Outstanding” environmental rating. It is also the first BER A2 energy rated commercial development in Ireland. More than 1400 people work in this building.
